Our Association

Hawkesbury and District Basketball Association (HDBA) is a non-profit sporting organisation.

Operating since 1994, the association has grown into a hub of passionate and skilled individuals working towards a bigger and better association.

Affiliated with Basketball NSW, Basketball Australia and Ford Aussie Hoops, HDBA is committed to bringing the great sport of basketball to the Hawkesbury community.

All of our domestic competitions are held at the Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium in South Windsor. Catering for all ages and abilities from Juniors to Men and Women Seniors to Special Olympics and Walking Basketball, as well as skill and development program we have something for everyone.

With over 800 registered members, HDBA is proud to acknowledge its recent achievements:

  • Development and expansion, in conjunction with PCYC Hawkesbury, of the Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium to two brand-new state-of-the-art airconditioned courts
  • Senior Representative Youth League Division 2 Men team as well as a U20 Men in the Barrengarry Competition
  • A total of 8 x Junior Representative Teams one each for both boys and girls in each age group from U12 to U18
  • Representative Success from our Junior and Senior teams
    • Five out of our eight junior teams made the 2024 MJL Semi-Finals
    • Two of those teams progressed through to the 2024 MJL Grand-Finals
    • 2024 MJL U14 Boys Div 2 Champions
    • Two teams progressing to the 2024 Basketball NSW State Cup
  • Referee Development Program with our own Referee Development Officer, Luke Spradbrow and Assistant Referee Development Officer, Jessika Erixon
  • An increase in both Junior and Senior Referees in both domestic and representative competitions.
  • Development of Skills and Fitness with junior, youth, and senior men’s and women’s programs
  • Successful Learn-to-Play programs headed by Cleo Pickard, with affiliation to Ford Aussie Hoops and Sporting Schools
  • Growth in our Women’s Program with our “Girls Got Game” junior development program and several new Women’s competitions for Juniors (U16 Girls, U18 Girls) and Seniors (U21 Women, Women’s Div 1 and 2)
